Everything you need to know before your piercing appointment

Welcome To Platinum Point

We understand that getting a piercing can feel overwhelming. That's why we've created this guide to help you feel completely confident and prepared.

At Platinum Point, there's no rush, no pressure, and no judgment. Just expert guidance, meticulous care, and a commitment to making your experience exceptional from start to finish.

What To Expect

1 / Consultation & Discussion

We start by getting to know you and your goals. We'll discuss your desired piercing, examine your anatomy to ensure it's suitable, and answer any questions you have. This is a pressure-free conversation - if you're unsure about anything, we'll help you figure it out together.

10 Minutes

2 / Jewellery Selection

Browse our carefully curated collection of beautiful jewellery. We'll show you options across different price points and help you choose something that matches your style, lifestyle, and budget. We'll explain the differences between materials and why we recommend certain pieces for initial piercings.

10 Minutes

3 / Aftercare Education

We'll mark the exact placement on your body with a surgical marker. You'll have the opportunity to check it in the mirror from multiple angles. We won't proceed until you're 100% happy with the placement - precision and your satisfaction are our priorities.

Total Appointment Time: 30 - 45 Minutes

We take three times longer than most studios because your experience and results matter. No rushing, no pressure.

Let's Talk Pain & Healing

Will it hurt?

Let's be honest; piercings are uncomfortable to have done!

However, the discomfort only lasts 2-3 seconds and most clients describe it as a quick pinch.

We take all possible steps to minimise discomfort, including the world's sharpest needles and using the most up to date techniques to make it a smooth experience.

Common First-Time Questions

zuqkty9remxjwzqfpslz.avif

Can I bring a friend?

Absolutely! You're welcome to bring one support person into the piercing room. For hygiene reasons, we limit it to TWO additional people, but they're more than welcome to wait in our reception area.

What if i can't make my appointment?

Life happens - we understand. If you need to reschedule, please give us at least 24 hours notice. This allows us to offer your slot to someone else. Late cancellations may incur a fee, but we'll always work with you if circumstances are beyond your control.

What if I have an issue?

Contact us immediately! We offer free check-ups throughout healing. It's always better to have us look at it than to worry. We can assess whether what you're experiencing is normal or needs attention. Never hesitate to reach out.

Can I get multiple Piercings?

Yes! Many clients choose to get multiple piercings at once. Your first piercing is $55, and each additional piercing in the same session is just $25. We'll help you decide what's manageable based on healing time and your lifestyle.

When can i go swimming?

Avoid swimming pools, hot tubs, lakes, and oceans for the first few weeks (we'll give you specific timelines). Light exercise is usually fine, but avoid activities that could impact or irritate the piercing. We'll provide detailed guidance based on your piercing location.

When can I change the Jewellery?

Patience is key! Most piercings need a "downsize" at 4-8 weeks (we do this free), but you shouldn't fully change jewellery until the piercing is completely healed. We'll guide you through the timeline for your specific piercing.

What if i'm nervous?

That's completely normal! Let us know, and we'll take extra time to make you comfortable. We can talk you through breathing techniques, answer more questions, or simply work at whatever pace feels right for you. There's no judgment here, we've helped hundreds of nervous first-timers.

What if I have allergies?

Please inform us of any allergies during booking or at the start of your appointment. We're fully equipped to accommodate latex allergies (we don't use latex), metal sensitivities (we use hypoallergenic materials), and other concerns.
