Lobe Piercing FAQ

  • Q: How much does a Lobe piercing hurt?
Lobe piercings are on soft tissue, making them one of the least painful. Clients usually report a quick, sharp pinch, often ranking them low on the pain scale (2/10).

  • Q: How long until I can change the jewelry?
The initial healing time is about 10-12 weeks. We recommend waiting until the piercing is completely settled - no redness or tenderness - before changing jewelry yourself. Your piercer at our Auckland studio can perform the first change safely.

  • Q: Can I get multiple lobe piercings at once?
Yes, we can safely perform up to three or four piercings in one session, depending on your body's ability to handle the trauma. Healing more than four simultaneously can slow down the process.

  • Q: Is it safe to get my lobe pierced with a gun?
    Absolutely not.
At Platinum Point Piercings, we only use sterile, single-use needles for all piercings, including lobes. Guns cause blunt force trauma and cannot be fully sterilised, significantly increasing the risk of complications and infection.
