Industrial Piercing FAQ
Q: What makes the Industrial piercing so complex?
It requires two separate cartilage piercings (a Helix and a Forward Helix) connected by one long, straight barbell. This means twice the trauma, and both piercings must heal perfectly straight and simultaneously.Q: Does everyone have the right anatomy for an Industrial?
No. This piercing is highly anatomy-dependent. You need a prominent, flat ridge of cartilage without any parts sticking out that would press against the bar. We will perform a thorough assessment to ensure your safety and success.Q: How long does the Industrial piercing take to heal?
It has the longest healing time for ear piercings, often taking 9 to 18 months or more. Trauma is common; any snag or pressure can restart the healing clock.Q: What do I do if one end starts to swell more than the other?
This is a sign of pressure or uneven trauma. Contact Platinum Point Piercing immediately. We may need to temporarily replace the single bar with two separate studs to manage the swelling and prevent the bar from cutting into the skin.
Industrial Piercing Aftercare
Average Healing Time: 9–18 months.
Cleaning: Clean the piercing twice daily. This requires diligently cleaning both entry points.
Option 1 (Saline): Spray the area with sterile saline solution and gently pat dry with non-woven gauze.
Option 2 (Water): Rinse in the shower with clean, warm running water and pat dry.
Crucial Rule: Trauma: The long bar is highly susceptible to trauma. NEVER bump, lean, or sleep on this piercing.
What to Avoid:
Avoid all pressure from glasses, phones, helmets, and beanies.
Be extremely careful when changing clothes to prevent snagging the long barbell.
