Daith Piercing FAQ
Q: What is the Daith piercing like?
It is located in the innermost cartilage fold, making it tricky to access. Pain is generally moderate (4-5/10), characterised by a deep pressure sensation.Q: Does the Daith piercing cure migraines?
While many people report a reduction in migraine frequency or severity after getting a Daith, this is not medically proven, and we cannot guarantee any therapeutic effect. We pierce the Daith for aesthetic reasons only.Q: Why do you pierce the Daith with a ring?
The Daith is one of the few cartilage piercings we can pierce with a ring (hoop) because of its tucked-away location. The ring size must be precise to minimise movement and irritation.Q: Can I swim while my Daith piercing is healing?
No. You must avoid submerging the piercing in pools, hot tubs, or the ocean for the entire initial healing period (6–12 months) to prevent bacterial infection.
Daith Piercing Aftercare
Average Healing Time: 6–12+ months.
Cleaning: Clean the piercing twice daily.
Option 1 (Saline): Spray the area with sterile saline solution and gently pat dry with a non-woven gauze pad.
Option 2 (Water): Rinse in the shower with clean, warm running water and pat dry.
Crucial Rule: In-Ear Pressure: DO NOT use in-ear headphones or earplugs while the Daith is healing.
What to Avoid:
Avoid any pressure from sleeping. Use a travel pillow.
Keep the area dry. Due to its location, ensuring it's completely dry after cleaning is vital to prevent moisture bumps.
